About Frances

Making Change Happen — Calmly, Creatively, and Completely.

Hi, I’m Frances, an independent business change consultant who thrives on making complex transformations actually happen. I help scaling and mature businesses move from “we really need to do something about this” to “done, delivered, and working—beautifully.”

Whether it’s integrating an acquisition, rolling out new software, or overhauling a clunky process, I lead cross-functional teams through change with structure, precision, and a healthy dose of calm.

What I Do — and Who I Do It For

I work with medium-sized businesses and large enterprises that are ready to scale, refine, or reposition — and they understand that meaningful transformation requires investment, strategy, and structure.

Clients hire me when:

  • A company is mid-growth and needs to improve efficiency, visibility, or profitability.

  • An integration or transformation project is underway but stalling.

  • There’s no in-house expertise to lead a complex business change — and someone needs to just get it done.

While I work across various sectors, I often support regulated businesses (like telecoms, finance, and healthcare), contact centres, and companies implementing software and systems change.

How I Work

At the heart of my work is disciplined project delivery and human-centred leadership. I don’t just tick boxes. I lead people through change — and I finish what I start. Clients describe me as the “glue” in a project: the centre of the wheel, connecting all the spokes.

Four core strengths define my project management style:

  1. Leadership – Rallying people toward a common purpose, even across departments or vendors.

  2. Communication – Cutting through jargon, resolving confusion, and getting everyone on the same page.

  3. Planning – Predicting what’ll happen in the weeks ahead and preparing now to avoid costly surprises later.

  4. Organisation – Capturing every detail, every deadline, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks.

While the work is high-stakes, the atmosphere doesn’t have to be. I create environments where teams and business Leaders feel confident, informed, and calm — even when the project or Goal is complex.

Why Business Change Management?

Like many of us, I fell into my career sideways — through a part-time job in an IT department while waitressing and dancing professionally (yes, really).

For me, project and change management clicked immediately. It suited how my brain works: strategic, curious, detail-driven, and built on meaningful problem-solving. I loved figuring out how things worked — and how they could work better. Eventually, I went full-time, trained, and made the leap to self-employment in 2018 when I launched FJL Projects.

My Values

  • Excellence in the detail – I dig deep to uncover the tiny details that others miss — because that’s where the risk lives.

  • Empowerment over chaos – I want teams to feel steady, not scrambled. Calmness is a leadership tool.

  • Ownership – If I say I’ll do something, I own it. And I finish it.

  • Continuous learning and curiosity – I’m not satisfied with just knowing enough. I actively pursue deeper understanding — reading, asking questions, testing ideas, and learning from experts — because real impact comes from truly knowing what you’re doing.

  • Creative problem-solving – Whether it’s a tech challenge or a process change, I love figuring things out.

More About Me

When I’m not leading transformation projects, I’m probably making something — often clothes from vintage patterns, sometimes involving couture hand-finishing techniques. I also mountain bike, love baking and cooking, and can frequently be found watching RuPaul’s Drag Race.

I believe work should feed your soul a little. Mine does — and I bring that same spirit of craftsmanship and care to every project I lead.

Ready to Work Together?

Whether you’re an established business ready to scale, a company preparing for a major integration, or just someone who knows “we can’t keep working like this” — I’d love to help you make change happen.
